Capacity and capability

Australian Coral Exports (ACE) is owned and operated by the Brighton family. Three generations of the family have fished and collected within the southern region of the Great Barrier Reef since 1954.

ACE is managed by Darren with dual qualifications in aquatic and environmental science. He is supported by an enthusiastic team that includes marine biologists and commercially trained divers.

Licenses and permits

ACE is authorised to collect and export (fish and coral) under state and commonwealth law. This includes authorities under the,

  • Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999,
  • Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975,
  • Fisheries Act 1994.

The above also includes multiple consignments for the export of CITES listed coral.

ACE currently owns three catamarans between 7 and 18 metres in length. This provides extended range and the ability to work in a wider range of weather conditions.
